Course Description:


This course is designed to create high-performance teams and build effective, sustainable strategies that increase the value of a team. More than 90% of our time is spent working with others. Communication and interpersonal skills are key competencies in decreasing workplace conflict and influencing others. This course will focus on the necessary skills required to manage high-performance teams. You will learn how to mine the team’s effectiveness while maintaining organizational unity. Participants will walk away with an enhanced knowledge of the importance of team building and communication strategies leading to a positive team dynamic.

 

 

  1. SMART Goals

 

Learning Objective:

 

Understand how to create SMART Goals that allow for long term team performance.

 

Outcomes:

 

  • Be able to design applicable SMART Goals

  • Understand the importance of the clear direction of the team and alignment with organizational growth

  • Identifying factors of fatigue

  • Learning the importance of completion

  • Understand the concept of effective leadership

 

  1. Understanding Self and Growing Others

 

Learning Objective:

 

Learning your core values and leveraging them with others.

  • Can list five core values

  • Creating a lasting impact on your organization

  • Teaching others your growth to build trust

  • Learning how to listen to others and creating feedback checkpoints

  • Understand and identify the team’s development level

 

  1. Effective Teams vs. Successful Teams

 

Learning Objective:

 

Learning the impacts of integrity and keeping promises and how this impacts the effectiveness of teams.

 

Outcomes:

 

  • Creating open dialogue within the team to build trust

  • Understand the impact of leading yourself

  • Define and understand the application of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Herzberg’s Hygiene-Motivation Theory and Vroom’s Expectancy Theory

  • Tuckman's Forming, Storming, Norming, and Performing model of a team

 

  1. Continuous Learning Environment

 

Learning Objective:

 

Understand how performance teams integrate continuous learning within projects.

 

Outcomes:

 

  • Learn how to integrate a team process of Plan, Do, Check, Adjust cycle

  • Facilitate a learning mindset and setting an environment that encourages transformation

  • Reflect from past experiences and learn how to integrate them on new projects

Using communication to build trust and transparency.

  • Understand the term communication as used in the workplace

  • Identify various communication styles and the importance of adaptation in the context of communication

  • Understand how to become empowered and shift the psychological ownership to the team

Identifying individual strengths to become a synergetic team.

  • Understand how to integrate your passion into team objectives

  1. Sense of Purpose

 

Learning Objective:

 

Creating a theme that builds a sense of hope to build a healthy culture.

 

Outcomes:

 

  • Learn how to build a healthy culture and how culture impacts a team

  • Understand how respect drives psychological safety of the team

  • Learn how being vulnerability in a team will drive success

  • Integrate high energy to build confidence

 

  1. Building Working Procedures

 

Learning Objective:

 

Understanding how working procedure is in alignment with a SMART Goal and impacts a team.

 

Outcomes:

 

  • Understand and identify current and effective team procedures

  • Create procedures that are in alignment with the use of SMART Goals

  • Learn how to identify successful team processes to build new procedures

  • Using the themes of creativity to build team momentum

 

  1. Team Flexibility

Understand how transition moves a team.

 

Outcomes:

 

  • Learn how shared roles build flexibility

  • Understanding the importance of feelings of individual and how feelings impact team

  • Create an understanding of external factors that impact value

  • Learn to capitalize on the value and show appreciation for projects well done
